To test the specific injector crack the injection line on the injector 12 turn this drops it of line and usually will cause the engine to stumble with a good injector it may not make any difference with a bad injector but may stop the knocking noise. It is common for high pressure fuel systems injectors to sound like this. This is much the same as a gasoline engine suffering from pre-ignition or spark knocking.
